Narita or Haneda Airport to Yanaka, Nezu & Nippori: Private Transfer Prices, Travel Time and Booking Tips

· Updated

Private transfers from Narita and Haneda to Yanaka, Nezu and Nippori are priced per vehicle: from on request (Haneda, ECO) and on request (Narita, ECO), tax included, one rate across Tokyo. Travel times, train comparison and booking tips.

Yanaka, Nezu and Nippori form an old-town part of Tokyo known for temples, traditional shopping streets and small inns and guesthouses. Many streets here are narrow lanes, and lodging entrances are often off the main road, so walking between the station and your stay with luggage can be tiring. This guide covers private transfer prices and travel times, and when a private car makes sense.

Private transfer prices

Prices are per vehicle, regardless of the number of passengers. Tokyo shares one rate across the city, so Yanaka, Nezu and Nippori use the same price as central Tokyo. One-way, per vehicle, tax included:

Departure airport ECO (5 pax) Alphard (7 pax) Hiace (10 pax) Travel time
Haneda on request ¥15,000 ¥17,000 about 30–45 min
Narita on request ¥22,000 ¥27,000 about 60–90 min
  • Tolls and parking fees are included; nothing is added later.
  • Rides between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a flat ¥4,000 surcharge.
  • Service runs 24 hours, with 90 minutes of free waiting for airport pickups.
  • Child safety seats, booster cushions and name-board meet-and-greet are available.

When a private car makes sense

  1. Your stay is down an old-town lane. The driver navigates to your address, so there is no station change and no searching for the entrance with your bags.
  2. You have a lot of luggage. ECO carries 4 pieces, Alphard 6 and Hiace 9, with no carrying through stations.
  3. You are travelling in a group. Pricing is per vehicle, so the more people, the lower the cost per person. Work it out for your party size and vehicle.
  4. You travel with children or older relatives. Child seats can be arranged, and there are fewer transfers and less walking.
  5. You land late or leave early. The service runs 24 hours; check the operators for last and first train times. Rides between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a flat ¥4,000 surcharge.
  6. You want to check in and rest right away. After a long flight, door-to-door is the least tiring option.

Haneda or Narita: which is easier for Yanaka, Nezu and Nippori?

Haneda starts at ECO on request with about 30–45 minutes of driving; Narita starts at ECO on request with about 60–90 minutes. If you can choose your flight, Haneda is usually quicker and cheaper. From Narita, a direct car saves you the changes along the way.

Private car or train?

Check the operators for routes, fares and timetables:

With one or two people and light bags, the train is a reasonable choice. With heavy luggage, a larger group, or a wish to be dropped at your door, a private car is usually easier.

Booking tips

  1. Give the full name and address of your accommodation or drop-off point, ideally in Japanese, to help the driver navigate.
  2. Enter your flight number when booking so our team can track your arrival.
  3. If your accommodation is in a narrow lane, tell customer service the preferred drop-off point when booking; they will confirm the arrangement.
