The international gateway to the Kansai region, connecting directly to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe. A unique offshore airport experience that impresses from the moment you land.
Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the world's first airport built entirely on an artificial island. The view of Osaka Bay during descent is unforgettable. Located roughly 50 km from downtown Osaka, it takes about 55–65 minutes to reach Umeda or Shinsaibashi via the Kansai Airport Expressway and Hanshin Expressway, and about 85–90 minutes to Kyoto. KIX covers the Kansai tourism golden triangle — Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara — plus Kobe and Wakayama. Whether you are here for cherry blossoms, autumn foliage, culinary adventures, or ancient culture, KIX is the perfect starting point.
Kansai Airport has Terminals 1 and 2; Terminal 2 mainly serves low-cost carriers (Peach, Spring Airlines, etc.). Free shuttle buses run between the two terminals, taking about 7–10 minutes. Terminal 1's arrival hall is spacious; a name-sign pickup at the central exit can be arranged. Travelers heading to Kyoto please note: Kyoto Station surroundings can be congested on weekends and national holidays, so we recommend adding 10–15 minutes of buffer time.
