The snowy gateway to Hokkaido. From the moment you step into New Chitose Airport, you are immersed in the vastness and purity unique to Japan's northern frontier.
New Chitose Airport (CTS) is Hokkaido's largest international airport, located about 45 km south of Sapporo. The airport connects directly to JR New Chitose Airport Station, making public transit accessible. However, for travelers carrying ski gear or multiple bags, a private transfer is undoubtedly the most relaxed option — via the Doto Expressway, reach Sapporo city center (Odori Park, Susukino) in about 50–60 minutes. During winter (November–March), all vehicles are automatically fitted with snow tires and four-wheel drive, ensuring stable and comfortable rides on snow-covered roads. New Chitose Airport itself is full of charm — the "Doraemon Sky Park" in the domestic terminal, the Royce Chocolate World, and countless Hokkaido delicacies often make travelers linger before even leaving the airport.
In winter (November–March), Hokkaido roads are often snow-covered and icy. All vehicles come standard with snow tires for safe travel. Due to winter road conditions, driving times may be 15–30% longer than usual, so please build in flexibility. If you have large ski equipment, please inform us of the quantity and dimensions when booking so we can arrange a vehicle with ample luggage space. New Chitose's international and domestic terminals are connected; a 5–8 minute walk. A name-sign pickup in the international arrival hall can be arranged.
