On the way from the airport to the hotel, many travellers want to make a detour: pick up supplies at a drugstore or supermarket, collect friends staying at another hotel, or eat before checking in. Sakura Travel's private transfers can arrange extra stops. This guide covers how it works and what to tell us when you book.
How it works
- Want to stop on the way? Let us know in advance and we'll arrange it.
- Up to 3 stops per booking.
- Tolls and parking are included in the quote and are not added because of a stop.
- Pricing is per vehicle, regardless of the number of passengers.
Central Tokyo has one flat rate, so the base fare is the same whether your hotel is in Shinjuku, Asakusa or elsewhere. See the route pages for Haneda to Tokyo and Narita to Tokyo.
If you travel between 22:00 and 06:00, a flat ¥4,000 is added.
When an extra stop helps
- Picking up a companion at another hotel. Friends or relatives staying elsewhere can join along the way instead of booking a separate car.
- Shopping for supplies. Stop at a supermarket or drugstore before the hotel.
- A meal on the way. Eat first rather than carrying luggage back out later.
Before you add a stop
- A maximum stop duration is not stated in our published information, so tell us how long you plan to stay.
- More stops mean a longer trip. A stop in the opposite direction from your hotel can add noticeable time; let our staff check the route.
- Please confirm how long you need at each stop with our staff when booking.
- If you are travelling with luggage, discuss how it will be handled during the stop when you book.
