Hakone and Atami are both popular hot-spring destinations reachable from Tokyo, one in Kanagawa Prefecture and the other in Shizuoka Prefecture. Neither is within Tokyo, yet our private transfer fare is identical for both. Since price will not settle the question, this guide sets out the other factors to weigh before you book.
Fares: The Same for Both
One-way, priced per vehicle, tax included. Tolls and parking are included.

- Per-vehicle pricing: Six people in an Alphard from Haneda pay about ¥8,333 each; ten people in a Hiace pay about ¥5,500 each. Six people in an Alphard from Narita pay about ¥11,667 each.
- Late-night surcharge: a flat ¥4,000 between 22:00 and 06:00.
- Child seats available: up to 3 child safety seats and 2 booster seats per booking.
- Drive time: Hakone takes roughly 90–120 minutes from Haneda and 150–180 minutes from Narita (rough off-peak estimates). Please confirm the Atami drive time with customer service when booking; both are affected by traffic and holiday periods.

- Several stops in one area: Hakone's sights and inns are spread across mountain terrain, and a private car lets you plan flexible stops. Just let us know in advance, up to 3 stops per booking.
- A relaxed seaside stay centred on the inn: Atami is a coastal hot-spring town where the inn and a stroll nearby can be the focus.
- Length of stay: For a single night when you do not want long hours on the road, ask customer service for the actual drive time and compare it with your inn's check-in time.
- Onward travel: We publish no price for trips between the two or on to other regions. Describe your plan on the booking page and customer service will confirm feasibility and cost.
- Access to your inn: Whether a vehicle can reach the door of an inn on a hillside or in the mountains should be confirmed with the inn and customer service.

- Yes. In our price list, one-way fares from Narita and Haneda are identical for both: from Haneda, ECO on request Alphard ¥50,000 Hiace ¥55,000; from Narita, ECO on request Alphard ¥70,000 Hiace ¥80,000 all tax included. All quotes are confirmed by our live customer service.
- If the price is the same, how do I choose?
- Price is not the deciding factor. Consider the type of inn, the length of your stay and whether you want to make several stops locally. This guide lists a few angles; our team can advise on your actual itinerary.
- Do Hakone and Atami get the flat Tokyo rate?
- No. Hakone is in Kanagawa Prefecture and Atami is in Shizuoka Prefecture. Neither is within Tokyo, so the flat rate for Tokyo does not apply and each has its own price.
- Are tolls and parking charged separately?
- No. Tolls and parking are included in the quote. Trips between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a ¥4,000 surcharge.
- Can you provide child seats?
- Yes. Child safety seats and booster seats are available, up to 3 child seats and 2 booster seats per booking.
