Honeymoon & Couples' Airport Transfers in Japan: Tokyo Hotels and Hakone Onsen Ryokan

· Updated

Planning an airport transfer for two? Haneda ECO on request and Narita ECO on request to Tokyo hotels; Haneda ECO from on request direct to Hakone. Priced per car, so the cost is shared between two.

Two travellers usually carry modest luggage but want a smooth first day without transfers. Our private transfers are priced per car, so the fare is shared between the two of you. This guide covers the two most common stops for honeymoons and couples' trips: a Tokyo city hotel and a Hakone onsen ryokan.

Costs for Two Common Destinations

One way, per car, tax included. Tolls and parking are included. The ECO 5-seater holds 4 pieces of luggage, which is usually enough for two.

Destination Haneda ECO Narita ECO
Tokyo city hotel (same price across Tokyo Metropolis) on request on request
Hakone onsen ryokan on request on request

Split between two (our own division, for reference): Hakone from Haneda ECO on request each, from Narita ECO on request each.

For arrivals between 22:00 and 06:00, add ¥4,000: Hakone on request (Haneda ECO) or on request (Narita ECO); Tokyo on request (Haneda ECO) or on request (Narita ECO).

Option 1: Tokyo First, Then Onward

Spending the first night in Tokyo keeps the arrival day relaxed. Driving time is about 30–45 minutes from Haneda and 60–90 minutes from Narita. The service runs 24 hours and follows your flight, and your driver can meet you with a name sign and take you to the hotel.

Option 2: Straight to Hakone

If the ryokan is the highlight of the trip, going directly from the airport avoids changing trains in Tokyo. Hakone lies outside Tokyo Metropolis, so the flat Tokyo price does not apply; see the table above. Driving time is about 90–120 minutes from Haneda and 150–180 minutes from Narita.

Check-in and dinner times vary by ryokan. Please tell our staff when booking so the departure time can be planned around them.

Stopping on the Way

If you would like to stop for a meal or shopping, just let us know in advance and we'll arrange it, up to 3 stops per booking. Please confirm the time needed with our staff.

Comparing with Trains

With little luggage and a daytime arrival, trains or buses may cost less. Third-party fares and schedules change, so please check the official sites:

A private car's advantage is no transfers and no lifting bags, which suits a couple who want to rest straight after a long flight.

What to Prepare Before Booking

  1. Date, flight number and expected arrival time.
  2. Number of bags and any oversized items.
  3. Hotel or ryokan name and address.
