Drive Time
Rough estimates in normal traffic; actual time depends on weather and road conditions:
- To Karuizawa: about 150–180 minutes from Haneda and 150–210 minutes from Narita.
- To Hakuba: about 3–4.5 hours from Haneda and 3.5–5 hours from Narita.
- Echigo-Yuzawa, Nagano city and other directions differ; customer service will confirm based on your accommodation.
Beyond Price: How to Choose
These are angles to consider, not a ranking:
- Season: Hakuba is mainly a ski destination. Karuizawa works year-round for shopping, walks and resort stays, so it offers more choice in summer and autumn.
- Time on the road: The drive to Hakuba is much longer, so most travellers go straight to their lodging on arrival day. With the shorter drive to Karuizawa, you may still fit in a meal or a stroll.
- Luggage: Skiers often bring skis, boots and ski wear in large numbers. Tell us when booking, and choose the Alphard (7 seats, 6 pieces) or Hiace (10 seats, 9 pieces) by headcount and luggage.
- Winter roads: Both areas can see snow or icy roads, which may lengthen the trip. Leave slack, especially on the way back to a flight.
- Budget: For the same group, Hakuba costs more per person; because pricing is per vehicle, larger groups share the cost more easily.

- Can I arrive late at night or travel with children?
- Yes. We operate 24 hours a day. Trips between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a flat ¥4,000 surcharge, and airport pickups include 90 minutes of free waiting. Child safety seats and booster seats are available, up to 3 child seats and 2 booster seats per booking.
