Mercedes V-Class or S-Class for a Japan Airport Transfer? Seats, Luggage and How to Enquire

· Updated

Considering a Mercedes-Benz V-Class or S-Class for your Japan airport transfer? Compare seats and luggage with ECO and Alphard, see when it is worth enquiring, and what to prepare.

Besides ECO, Alphard and Hiace, Sakura Travel lists the Mercedes-Benz V-Class and S-Class. Neither has a published price, so before you enquire it helps to know whether your group and luggage actually call for one of them, and what to include in your request. This guide uses only the seat and luggage figures confirmed on our site; it makes no claims about in-car equipment.

Seats and luggage across the five vehicles

Vehicle Seats Luggage Published price
ECO 5-seat sedan 5 4 Yes
Toyota Alphard 7 6 Yes
Toyota Hiace 10 9 Yes
Mercedes-Benz V-Class 6 6 On request
Mercedes-Benz S-Class 3 3 On request

Two takeaways:

  • The V-Class matches the Alphard on capacity. 6 seats / 6 bags versus 7 seats / 6 bags: on passengers and luggage alone, the Alphard gives up nothing. Choosing the V-Class is a matter of preference, not capacity.
  • The S-Class seats 3 with 3 bags. It suits one to three travellers with light luggage. If three people each have a large suitcase plus carry-on bags, check with our support team first.

When it is worth enquiring

  • 1–3 travellers, light luggage, and you prefer a sedan: ask about the S-Class.
  • 3–6 travellers who specifically want the V-Class: ask about the V-Class. If seats and luggage are your only concern, the Alphard does the job and has a published price you can budget against.
  • 7 or more travellers: neither the V-Class nor the S-Class fits. Consider the Hiace, which seats 10, or two vehicles.

Budgeting without a published price

Use the vehicles with published prices to frame a range. These are tax-inclusive fares from Narita and Haneda to central Tokyo (one way, per vehicle; the same price applies across central Tokyo):

Vehicle Haneda Narita
ECO on request on request
Alphard ¥15,000 ¥22,000
Hiace ¥17,000 ¥27,000

V-Class and S-Class prices are not part of this table and cannot be derived from it. Please rely on the quote from our support team.

What to include in your enquiry

On the booking page, please state:

  1. Date, airport and flight details.
  2. Number of travellers and pieces of luggage, including how many large suitcases.
  3. Destination: hotel name and address.
  4. That you would like a V-Class or S-Class, and whether another vehicle is acceptable if it cannot be arranged.
  5. Child seat needs if travelling with young children; child safety seats and booster seats are available.

The standard ¥4,000 surcharge for 22:00–06:00 applies to our service in general; please confirm the surcharge and any other conditions for the V-Class and S-Class when you enquire. Service runs 24 hours.
