Plan backwards from your flight
- Check your airline's check-in deadline. It varies by airline and terminal; use the airline's official site. We do not quote a figure here.
- Add time inside the airport for baggage drop, security and immigration. See the official pages for Narita and Haneda.
- Subtract the drive. From Yokohama, about 25–40 minutes to Haneda and 85–100 minutes to Narita (rough off-peak estimates; actual time depends on traffic and holidays).
- Add a traffic buffer. Holiday and weekend roads around Tokyo can be slow, so estimate conservatively.

By train
Getting from Yokohama to the airport by train usually involves a transfer, depending on your hotel, the airport and the terminal. Fares and timetables change by season, so we list no figures here. Please check the operators directly:
