Osaka International Airport (ITM), commonly called Itami Airport, straddles Toyonaka and Ikeda in Osaka Prefecture and Itami in Hyogo Prefecture. Since Kansai International Airport opened, it has served domestic flights only. Located just north of central Osaka, it is about 25–35 minutes to Umeda via the Hanshin Expressway, about 30–40 minutes to Kobe Sannomiya and about 50–60 minutes to Kyoto. If you connect to Osaka on a domestic flight, Itami is the most convenient gateway to Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe.
