Going from Haneda or Narita to Gotemba Premium Outlets? Where suitcases go while you shop, shipping, opening hours, and how to continue to Hakone or the airport.
Gotemba Premium Outlets is in Shizuoka Prefecture. Its official site describes about 290 stores on a site with views of Mt. Fuji. Many travellers heading from Haneda to Gotemba Outlets slot it in on the way to Hakone, or just before heading back to the airport. Either way, the same question comes up: how do you shop with suitcases, and where do your purchases go afterwards?
Opening hours and the annual closing day
- March to November: 10:00–20:00
- December to February: 10:00–19:00
- Closed one day a year; the next is 25 February 2027.
It is an expressway drive from either airport, so if you go straight after landing in winter, the 19:00 close gives you an hour less than in summer.
What about the suitcases?
According to the official services page, there are coin lockers in the West Zone, East Zone and Hill Side, but only a handful of extra-large lockers that take big suitcases, and they may all be in use when you arrive.
With a private car, your suitcases can stay in the vehicle while you shop. If you need the car to wait at the outlets, give your expected time there when booking; our team will confirm parking and waiting arrangements.
After shopping: ship it or load it
With a big haul, you have two options:
- Ship it: the official site lists a paid domestic delivery service (accepted near Gap in the West Zone and near Swarovski in the East Zone), and some stores offer overseas shipping. Handy if you bought large items and still have days of travel ahead.
- Load it: if your next stop is your hotel or the airport, putting everything in the car is simplest. Count the shopping bags when choosing a vehicle: the Alphard seats 7 (6 bags) and the Hiace seats 10 (9 bags).
Travelling with small children? The outlets have coin-operated strollers (for 4 to 48 months), though they can all be out. Child seats and booster cushions are available in our cars.
After Gotemba Outlets: Hakone or back to Haneda?
