Planning transport for a Japan concert trip? Saitama Super Arena, Makuhari Messe and K-Arena are outside Tokyo. Transfer pricing, landing-to-show timing and late flights.
When you plan transport for a Japan concert trip, the detail people most often miss is where the venue actually is. Several of the biggest venues are outside Tokyo proper: Saitama Super Arena is in Saitama Prefecture, Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture and K-Arena Yokohama in Yokohama, Kanagawa. The venue's location decides where you should stay, which airport suits you, and how your transfer is priced.
Concert trip transport in Japan: start with where the venue is
| Venue | Location | Transfer pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo Dome, Ariake Arena | Tokyo | Central Tokyo fare, same for every ward |
| K-Arena Yokohama | Yokohama, Kanagawa | Yokohama fare |
| Saitama Super Arena | Saitama City, Saitama | Please contact us for a quote |
| Makuhari Messe | Chiba City, Chiba | Please contact us for a quote |
For a Tokyo venue, an Alphard from Haneda to central Tokyo is ¥15,000; for Yokohama, an Alphard from Haneda to Yokohama is ¥17,000, about 25–40 minutes away. There is no fixed fare yet for the Saitama and Chiba venues, so give the venue and your hotel when booking and our team will quote. For Tokyo Dome and Ariake, see Narita and Haneda to Tokyo Dome and Narita and Haneda to Toyosu and Ariake; for Yokohama, see Haneda to Yokohama.
How much time between landing and the show
The concert date is fixed; your flight is not. After landing you still have immigration, baggage claim and a stop at the hotel, so landing two or three hours before doors open is a real risk. The safer plan is to arrive the day before, or at least on the morning of the show.
The 90 minutes of free waiting covers a normal immigration queue, but no transfer can make up for a long flight delay.
Heading straight to the airport after the show
Plenty of fans fly home on a late flight after the concert. The venue and nearby stations are crowded at the end, and exit arrangements are set by the organiser. When booking the airport run, give the expected finishing time and your preferred pickup point, and our team will confirm the spot in advance. Many people leave their bags at the hotel and collect them on the way.
Haneda has late-night international departures and is about 30–45 minutes from central Tokyo, depending on traffic; rides between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a ¥4,000 surcharge.
Fan goods and merch: more luggage going home
Light sticks, poster tubes and boxed merchandise mean you usually leave with more than you brought. The Alphard takes 6 pieces of luggage and the Hiace 9; list long poster tubes and large boxes with their sizes when booking. Friends going to the same show can share one car, priced per vehicle: five people in a Hiace from Haneda to central Tokyo pay about ¥3,400 each.
Work out which prefecture the venue is in first, then decide where to stay and which airport to use. Submit your flight, venue and hotel on the booking page.
FAQ
- My concert is at Saitama Super Arena. Is the transfer price the same as Tokyo?
- No. Saitama Super Arena is in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, so the Tokyo flat rate does not apply; please contact our team for a quote.
- We are staying in Yokohama for K-Arena. How much is it from Haneda?
- An Alphard from Haneda to Yokohama is ¥17,000 and a Hiace ¥19,000; the drive takes about 25–40 minutes depending on traffic.
- On a Japan concert trip, can I land on the day of the show?
- We would not recommend landing close to show time. Flight delays and immigration queues can both eat time, so leave at least half a day of margin.
- Can I go straight to the airport for a late flight after the show?
- We operate 24 hours. If you would like to be picked up near the venue, tell us when booking and our team will confirm the arrangement; with the crowds after a show, collecting your bags from the hotel first is also an option. Rides between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a ¥4,000 surcharge.
