Rinku Premium Outlets Luggage: Lockers & Transfer from KIX

Kansai Airport is one stop from Rinku Premium Outlets, but where do big suitcases go? Locker sizes, oversize storage, hours, parking limits and when a car helps.

Rinku Premium Outlets sits just across the water from Kansai International Airport, as the official site puts it. Distance is not the issue. The real question for anyone visiting Rinku Premium Outlets with luggage is where two big suitcases will go on arrival day or before a flight home. Here is what the official service page says.

Will your suitcase fit in a locker?

The official services page lists about 135 coin lockers across the Main Side and Sea Side, in several sizes:

  • The common "Large" locker is roughly 84 cm high, 35 wide and 64 deep, found by the food court, next to Bagel & Bagel and by the central restrooms.
  • The biggest "Wide" locker is 116 × 46 × 64 cm, but there are only six: three by the Main Side food court and three next to Sergio Rossi on the Sea Side.
  • Near Logos on the Sea Side there are two extra-large lockers, 113 cm high. Everything else is medium or small.

Measure your case. A 28-inch suitcase may only fit those six wide lockers or the two extra-large ones, and on a busy weekend they go first. The site also asks visitors to put big bags in lockers to avoid mix-ups and theft.

Anything too large can be stored at the Information Center (Main Side, 1F) or Welcome Center (Sea Side, 1F), cash only. These are staffed counters, so you only find out about space when you arrive.

Shopping bags: shipping limits

International delivery is currently suspended. Only a few stores, such as Owndays and Shimamura Music, still ship overseas, and only items bought in the same store. Domestic delivery is taken at Mamanoreform, Main Side 1F. In practice you carry purchases home yourself, so on a departure-day visit your luggage grows during the trip.

Opening hours and working backwards from your flight

Hours are 10:00–20:00 from March to January and 10:00–19:00 in February, with restaurants open until 20:00. The center closes one day a year; the next is 25 February 2027. Because it opens at 10:00, an early arrival cannot shop straight off the plane; an afternoon arrival or an evening departure fits much better. On departure day, check out, go straight to the outlets with your bags, then leave time for checkout queues and collecting luggage before heading back.

Driving: two limits to know

The official access page gives the car route via the Kansai Airport Expressway to the Izumisano exit, then about 5 minutes on local roads. It also states that "P3 1F is not a designated Rinku Premium Outlets parking lot" and asks drivers not to park on surrounding roads. So when you book a car, note the stop and how long you plan to stay, and our team will confirm where the car can wait. Do not assume a driver can idle at the roadside.

Train or private car: decide by luggage, not distance

The Osaka tourism bureau lists about 6 minutes on foot from Rinku Town Station (JR and Nankai). With one small bag, the train plus a short walk is simple. A car makes sense when:

Rinku is not one of our standard destinations, so please ask our team for a quote for a trip with a stop.

To plan Kansai Airport, the outlets and your Osaka hotel as one trip without carrying bags between trains, send your flight and hotel details on the booking page. Other departures from Kansai Airport are listed too.
