Doraemon Museum from Haneda: the museum has no parking and asks visitors not to drive. Timed entry, luggage lockers and the Noborito shuttle explained.
The Kawasaki City Fujiko F. Fujio Museum, better known as the Doraemon Museum, has one problem that matters more than distance: you can't drive there. If you land at Haneda in the morning with suitcases and a timed ticket, getting to the Doraemon Museum from Haneda comes down to three constraints: no parking, a fixed entry slot, and luggage that can only go in a locker or at the front desk. Sort those out and a private car becomes useful.
No parking, and the museum asks you not to drive
The museum's official access page states that it has no parking and asks visitors not to come by car. The official FAQ likewise says there are no parking facilities and points visitors to nearby coin car parks or public transport.
So a private car here is not "wait at the front door." Where we can drop you off, and how long the driver can wait nearby, can't be promised when you book. Tell us your planned entry and exit times and our team will confirm the arrangement. A sensible plan is to have the car take you and your bags to the Noborito area or your hotel, then use the museum's own shuttle for the last stretch.
The Noborito shuttle: leave the last leg to the museum
According to the access page, a direct paid shuttle bus runs from Noborito Station about every 10 to 15 minutes, taking around 9 minutes, and operates on opening days. You can also walk from Mukogaoka-yuen (Odakyu) or Shukugawara (JR Nambu line); the site shows route maps but gives no walking times. Opening hours on the official calendar are 10:00–18:00, but closing days and extended hours can change, so check the calendar before you go.
Timed entry: work backwards from landing
This is the constraint unique to this museum. Admission is by advance reservation for a set date and time, and the FAQ says to arrive within 60 minutes of the time on your ticket; arriving before your slot doesn't get you in. Ticket sales rules and release dates are on the official site.
Work backwards from the ticket: immigration at Haneda, baggage claim, the drive, the shuttle wait. If your flight might run late, don't book a slot an hour or two after landing; an afternoon slot carries far less risk.
Luggage and strollers: decide what comes inside
Per the FAQ, coin lockers sit in front of the first-floor shop and can be used only during that day's opening hours; bags too big for them can be left at reception. Strollers can't be used in the museum and are kept in a dedicated area. With two or three big suitcases and a toddler, luggage quickly becomes a burden.
An easier option is to let the car carry your bags to the hotel first, then go to the museum in the afternoon travelling light. For how same-day stops work, see our guide to adding a stop to an airport transfer; for how many bags fit each vehicle, see the luggage guide.
Haneda to Kawasaki: pricing and route
Haneda to Tama Ward in Kawasaki is not on our public price list, so please ask our team for a quote; all quotes are confirmed by a real person. For general Tokyo routes, start with Haneda Airport to central Tokyo. Drive time depends on traffic; tell us your flight, entry slot and hotel when booking.
To fit Haneda arrival, luggage and your entry slot together, submit your flight, plan and party size on the booking page and our team will confirm the drop-off arrangement.
FAQ
- Can you drive to the Doraemon Museum? Is there parking?
